I’ve always loved stories. As a child, I devoured Gillian Cross’ The Demon Headmaster series, Jill Murphy’s The Worst Witch and Joan Aiken’s The Wolves of Willoughby Chase.
Even after I grew up I still secretly loved reading children’s books, so one day, when my baby son was sleeping, I decided to try and write one. After lots of attempts (and lots of failures), my first picture book Yuck said the Yak was published. I loved writing it and went on to write more and more.
My picture books have since been short-listed for the Dundee Picture Book Award, chosen by BookTrust as part of their Bookstart Corner programme and selected by The Reading Agency for the Summer Reading Challenge.
I also write fiction for older children and I’m currently a student at Bath Spa University, studying for an MA in Writing for Young People.
I love ravens, running, baking macarons, horse riding, forests, horse riding in forests, custard creams, huge mugs of milky tea, making up silly songs, getting lost on purpose and watching thunderstorms.
I live just outside Paris in France with my husband, two boys and a garden full of noisy toads.
